The 11th edition of FoodTech India, the region’s premier food processing and packaging trade fair, was well received by exhibitors and visitors from across Asia.
About 45 commercial buyers from Sri Lanka visited the exhibition and there were five from Bangladesh and Nepal, said Joseph Kuriakose, director of Cruz Expos, organizers of the exhibition. The three-day exhibition that will end on Thursday is being held virtually due to Covid restrictions.
The food processing industry is one of the least affected and fastest-recovering industries from the effects of Covid and the response received for the show bears witness to that, he said. Although taking place virtually, the show also provided all of the business networking opportunities available as in a physical exhibit. And by being online, it can be accessed from anywhere in the world, he added.

The 42 exhibitors showcasing their products and services this year include major packaging companies as well as ingredient and flavor suppliers who showcased their products and services.
Cruz Expos, the show’s organizers, recently held similar virtual exhibitions on the agribusiness and boat and marine sectors in October 2020 and February 2021.
