Tuffy’s Pet Foods recalls Pure Vita Salmon Starter Dog Food

Tuffy’s Pet Foods is recalling approximately 1,600 cases of Pure Vita Salmon Starter dog food.

The product may contain high levels of vitamin D which can cause unwanted effects in dogs of all sizes including symptoms such as vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling. and weight loss.

No illness or injury has been reported to date.

The recalled product – which comes in a 12.5 oz. TetraPak carton with a lot number between 0629101N1 and 0901101N1 and UPC 0 73893 96202 1 – has a “best before date” of June 9, 2023 and September 1, 2023. It has been shipped to distributors and retail stores in United States

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled product should stop giving it to their pets immediately and return it to their retailer for a full refund.
